QnU - The next level in Q performance

The new QnU PLCs are now available from Provendor!

Get to know this new technology and place an order to our sales department.

Note: These new PLCs are only supported by GX Developer (universally from version 8.68W) and

GX IEC Developer (version 7.03) programming packages.

Differences between the new models in speed and memory capacity.

Easy to connect to programming tool via Ethernet

IP address setting is not required to connect GX Developer (programming tool) to the CPU module directly (one-to-one connection). Also, the CPU module allows the use of either straight or cross cable. Ethernet thus realizes easy communication with the CPU module like USB connection, even operators who are not familiar with the network can easily connect it.

Search and display a list of connected CPUs

Using an Ethernet hub, GX Developer can be simultaneously connected to multiple CPUs.

The connected CPUs on the network can be searched and displayed in a list. By selecting a CPU from the list, it is connected easily even if the IP address is unknown, and the operating status can be checked.

Connect to various devices according to applications

High-speed communication with external devices is available via Ethernet.

According to application requirements, various devices can be connected.

Improved production time and processing accuracy

To correspond with increasing demands for shortening production time of large-scale, complex systems, the new model offers the fastest basic operation performance* on the market: basic operation processing speed (LD) of 9.5 ns. This means scan time is reduced, improving production time and processing accuracy. In addition, the programmable controller can realize high-speed control which was previously supported by micro computer boards only.

*As of January 2008

High-speed, high-precision real data processing

Floating point addition instruction processing speed is greatly increased to 0.057 ms to support high-speed, high-precision operation processing of various production data. Also, double precision operation is added to reduce calculation errors when implementing complex equations.

High-speed sequence data processing

Programming by index is necessary to perform operation of structured (sequence) data efficiently. Index register processing speed is dramatically reduced, which can shorten scan time when indexing is heavily used for sequence programs such as FOR to NEXT instruction.

High-speed, high-accuracy machine control

By synchronizing a sequence program and high-speed communication between multiple CPUs (operation cycle of 0.88 ms), faster machine control is realized. Performance of motion control is two times faster than the previous model.

Programs structured into individual routines

The number of programs is increased to 124 (max.) to allow detailed program management by product, process, etc. This facilitates structuring programs into individual routines. Also, standard ROM capacity is expanded to 4 MB (max.), enabling storage of label information of function block (FB) and device comments of sequence programs in CPU.

Easy to handle large-volume data

The capacity of standard RAM and memory card, which can be used as file register, is increased to store larger amounts of production and quality data. With an 8 MB SRAM, a maximum of 4086 k words (about 4 times more than the previous model) can be used for file registers. Furthermore, because the index register is expanded to 32 bits, programming beyond 32 k words is possible, enabling use of the entire area of file register for indexing.

Highly compatible with standard Q Series

The standard Q Series modules can be used without modification. Common modules can be used for the existing system and new system, lowering maintenance costs.

Secures data even after prolonged storage

Program and parameter files are automatically saved in the Flash ROM, which does not require battery backup. This prevents data loss due to dead battery. This function improves battery life. Important information such as device data are also protected in case of dead battery. The data will be backed up in standard ROM, and the backup data automatically returns when power is turned ON.

Simplified program transfer using just a memory card

Program modification of devices at the remote locations is simplified. Just install a memory card with programs and parameters into the CPU to transfer data. No programming tool (PC) is required. Modification time is reduced drastically.

L-series

MITSUBISHI L Series

The L series is a powerful but compact modular controller with many features built-in to the CPU itself. With its excellent cost performance and usability it is ideal for use in mid-size control applications.

The rack-free design promotes high system flexibility with minimum form factor. The single-CPU architecture includes built-in Ethernet and Mini-USB interfaces, a SD/SDHC memory card slot for program storage and data logging, and 24 digital I/O for simple high-speed counting and positioning functions. The high-performance CPU also includes a CC-Link V2 Master/Local station for connection to the powerful open field network CC-Link.

Besides the functions already built-in, the CPU can be supplemented with up to 10 extension and special function modules for additional digital and analog I/Os, highspeed counters, communications interfaces, Simple Motion, positioning etc. The compact size, easy expandability, networking capabilities, and multitude of built-in high-powered functions makes the L series ideal for both stand-alone machines as well as networked stations in larger applications.

The L Series is fully supported by iQ Works software suite, which brings all the benefits of MELSOFT Navigator network configuration setup, System Label and structured programming, and dedicated GT16 screens for troubleshooting and maintenance.

Mitsubishi FX3G

MITSUBISHI FX3U

The new FX3U series is the third generation of Mitsubishi Electric’s successful compact PLC family. Developed for the international market, the new controllers feature a special 2nd ”adapter bus” system, which complements the existing system bus used for expansion, special function and network modules. Up to ten additional modules can be connected to this new adapter bus.

MITSUBISHI FX3UC

The MELSEC FX3UC CPU brings greater flexibility and more performance to applications which do not have space for traditional style PLC’s. Like all other members of the FX family, each FX3UC PLC consists of a fully-integrated base unit that contains all the necessary PLC components, from the CPU to memory and the I/O controller.

The smallest base unit with 8 digital inputs and 8 transistor outputs takes up just 27 % of the space required for a comparable FX3U unit – and yet the FX3UC incorporates all the features of the FX3U.

On the left side of the base unit, you can add FX2NC- and FX3U-serie’s ADP-modules. FX3UC has also own expand modules, which are conected on the right side of the base unit.

The FX3UC base units all have a 24V DC power supply and are available in versions with 16, 32, 64 or 96 I/Os. They can be expanded up to a maximum configuration of 384 I/Os by adding expansion modules and networked I/O points.

Just like the FX3U, the FX3UC offers outstanding connectivity for all standard networks. I/O terminal blocks with screw or spring terminals can be connected with standard ribbon cable connectors.

MITSUBISHI FX3G

The FX3G is an introductory compact PLC and is the newest addition to the FX3 series, designed for simple yet performance-critical applications. Incorporating innovative FX3 series technology the customer is presented with a suite of benefits.

While being intended for smaller systems, the FX3G still delivers a powerful combination of essential features, plus more not expected from a controller at this level. These include; a large program memory to implement sophisticated algorithms, ample space for data storage, logging or recipes, plus high speed execution to enhance system productivity. A dual bus architecture provides flexible expansion possibilities for additional I/O capacity and communication functions.

Positioning functions are also simple to implement. The FX3G provides direct control of up to three independent axes without any additional hardware.

The dual bus architecture provides twice as many expansion possibilities compared to previous designs. On one bus, the FX3G uses additional, familiar FX family I/O and special function blocks to add a comprehensive variety of I/O and special function capabilities such as analogue and networking. On the other system bus, the FX3G uses the existing FX3U special adapters to provide high performance communication and analog capabilities that are directly linked to the CPU.

The FX3G offers you a wide selection of options when it comes to networking and communications. These include CC-Link, CANopen, Profibus-DP, Ethernet and standard serial communication. Further, a built-in USB port makes permits convenient connection to any PC or laptop for high speed program uploads and downloads along with monitoring.
